Proximity to one of the world’s greatest natural fisheries and some of the most bio-diverse National Parks in the world, making this body of water unique. On this tour, guests have seen huge pods of dolphins, whales, whale sharks, manta rays, sea turtles, schooling fish, sea snakes, sea birds and jungle flora and fauna, including sloths in the mangroves.  The boats are equipped with new engines, GPS, depth sounders, VHF, back-up VHF, cellular, pony motor, dolphin hydrophones, life vests for all sized guests and first aid kits.

“We particularly enjoyed the tour.  Thanks so much for suggesting it to us.  On that single tour, we saw probably about 50 spotted dolphins, and swam with them, and had fun snorkelling.” Chuck – Salt Lake City, UT

“I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed my tour. Our guide knows so much about the marine life, the Puerto Jimenez area and his passion show through! I highly recommend this tour as I saw bottlenose and spinner dolphins, sea turtles, a glimpse of a humpback whale and enjoyed the snorkelling! It was a wonderful trip. Hats off to you for providing a great experience for anyone of any age!” Kerry – Rochester, NY

Fish with William From the Beach or Our Kayaks

Learn to fish like a Tico! Catch dinner on the beach, right out front!  William is an expert fisherman and knows all the best spots, bait and techniques. He will help you catch dinner and share all his secrets.

Jack Crevalle, Bonito, Spanish mackerel and various species of snapper, are regularly caught. You might also catch Snook, Roosterfish and Pompano. Bring whatever tackle you can, ie: hooks, sinkers, floats to use with the small sardines you will use as live bait. For artificial bait we recommend small, lead-head, skirted jigs, either white or yellow.

William has rods and hand lines available for his clients when he takes them fishing on a tour from our kayaks or shore. The rods are ok, but the reels not so much. If you want to fish with him you should bring your own reel as there is nowhere to rent or buy rods or reels. A decent, inexpensive travel rod can be had online at Amazon. Search for a “Shakespeare Medium Action Travel Mate Spinning Rod.” This rod is small enough to pack in your luggage and strong enough for most fish you are likely to catch from the beach.

If you want to fish on your own you should bring both rods and reels. We have a casting net William can help you catch bait with. Use 8 to 12 lb line, depending on your preference and fishing experience. A less experienced fisherman will do well with a 12 lb line.

“WIlliam, the manager (who lives next door) is wonderful. He was an excellent guide on our hike up to the nearby waterfall and is a master at fishing from the shore using the diving pelicans as fish finders.
Early morning swims on the empty beach, evening strolls accompanied by the ever present magnificent birds and monkeys. We are still relishing memories of these magical moments and will be back for more.”

William took us on a hike to a nearby waterfall where he spotted wildlife for us that we never would have found otherwise. Our children loved the “set up” at Casa Bambu, where they were able to run around looking for wildlife and even playing with other kids staying in another house on the property.

“Excellent stay. We woke up every day to monkeys and birds visiting us and went to bed listening to the ocean waves. The location was perfect, with great access to nearby trails and waterfalls, obviously the beach and a local restaurant bar with reasonably priced, good-tasting meals. The owners were very quick to respond to requests. Can’t recommend the place enough.”

Steven K

“William, the property manager, took us on a really fun tour of the Rainforest near this property. The swim at the waterfall at the end of the hike was refreshing and fun, especially for the girls who safely jumped off the rocks beneath the falls several times.”
